friday FOTN

Just a quick FOTN from me today, I went out with a friend for dinner and drinks on Friday and this is my makeup.

You can't see my eyeshadow properly, it was mostly just a dark grey with a white/cream in the inner corner and on the brow bone.

Products used:
Garnier Roll On (the one thats coloured)
MAC Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 in NC15
Benefit Coralista
MAC MSF Natural in Light
Collection 2000 Extreme Felt Tip Liner
Models Own Eyeshadow trio (free with Fabulous magazine)
Diorshow Mascara
Barry M Lip Paint in 032 Green (Touch of Magic)

I wore this playsuit, which you can sort of see in the photo, with red tights to match the cat's string, and these wedges which I find are SO comfy, and look much nicer in person! Total supermarket outfit there! I also wore a really cute black wooden cat necklace, sticking to the kitty theme :)

Sorry for the links instead of photos, I didn't have time to take full outfit shots. To make up for it I'll leave you with a picture of my nails of the weekend, and my cat Rosie being cute :3

Am wearing MAC Pink Friday by Nicki Minaj lipstick - I love this :D

the dress

I'm sure you've all had it - that one piece of clothing that you see and straight away know you must own it. For me, it was this dress. Prepare for a long story about a dress.....

I saw it on a couple of bloggers, who mentioned they'd got it from Tesco. I searched every local Tesco (and some not so local!), and the website, and found nothing. This was over a month ago, so I gave up, assumed it had sold out and I'd pretty much forgotten about it. I did buy this dress to tide me over but it wasn't quite the same.

Then I found it, last weekend! The two sizes they had were 6 and 12, and whilst I'm definitely neither of those, I decided to try the 6. I was desperate for it to fit, mainly because I wanted it so badly but I did choose the 6 in the secret hope that I'd get a bit of a body-confidence boost while I was at it. Turns out I got what I hoped for, and it fit!

I'm so so happy that I found this, I really love it. I don't think it photographs as good as it could - it's slightly see through under my camera's flash, so I did need to wear a cami underneath - and it is almost scandalously short (I'm not sure if that's the dress or the size), but I LOVE it! I definitely prefer it to the new look one, which has a funny sean (is that the word?) in the middle which does nothing for my body shape. I also think the fact that the leopard is darker makes it more wearable, but I will still wear the other one too. In fact, searching 'peter pan' on the New Look website gave me a lot of results that I'd love to own.

Did anyone else see (/buy?) this dress in their Tesco?

cooking time!

I won't do many cooking posts on here, but last night we cooked a really yummy meal and I took a few photos, so thought I'd post about it.

The recipe was taken from here, it's called Arroz Con Pollo, and is basically meat, rice, veg, and loads of spices.

There's a restaurant near me called Arbuckles (I'm not sure if they have other branches, I don't think they do) which does a dish called Gumbo. That was basically like this but with prawns and celery added, so we added that to ours.

We've cooked this a few times and it's always been really yummy, it's actually really good the next day too!

And here are the pictures (all taken on my phone, sorry!):

I forgot to take one of the actual finished dish, in the bowl, but just trust me, it's awesome :D

Wednesday's outfit:

Top: H&M
Skirt: F&F at Tesco
Cardigan: Peacocks
Necklace: Elsie Belle

I don't like this skirt half as much as my H&M ones, I don't even know why I'm wearing it really! I liked this outfit much better during the day, don't think it's photographed very well :(

Oh and my eyeliner is courtesy of Diorshow mascara cause I'm clever and didn't take any eyeliner with me!

Hope you like!

P.S. I found a load of necklaces that I hadn't hung up, and I really like all of them. Not sure if that's bad cause they're not included in the post, or good cause I found them again!

I've been wanting to find a decent way to store my necklaces for a while. I've had a couple of those stands that are shaped like lady's bodies with hooks instead of a head (no idea what they're called!) but I've never found them to be any good. My necklaces are either too long so they go into a pile at the bottom, or they're too heavy and they make the stands fall over. But now I have a solution!

For Christmas I asked for this set of hooks and I got it :D I've waited until now to show it because it's only recently been screwed into the wall, but now it's there and it holds all my necklaces, although it is a bit cramped, as you can see:

I'm not sure whether I should buy another (although I'm not sure I have room for another) or look for some other form of storage, maybe for the ones I don't wear so much?

I thought I'd show my most worn necklaces in more detail. Most of them are more 'delicate' ones, since I tend to wear necklaces for days at a time, so I'd look a bit silly wearing the same 'statement' necklace all week.

necklaces 011

Hook 1: 'Love' - came from a 99p shop! It's actually not too bad considering that. They had quite a few different words and matching rings, but I lost my ring :(

Hook 2: Tree - Came from Scope (the charity shop), it was part of their own jewellery range rather than being second hand, it was probably only £1 or so. I've had this for years and it's looking a little worse for wear now but I still really love it, it's so different to anything I usually see.

Hook 3: 'Hottie' - I bought this as a joke, was £1 in the sale in New Look. I only ever wear it with the necklace next to it; sausage dog, hot dog, get it?! :D

Hook 4: Dotty Daschund - this was a birthday gift from my boyfriend, I dropped plenty of hints ^_^

Hook 5/6: True Love Locket - also a gift from my boyfriend, for our anniversary. The locket opens up too :3

Hook 7: Plop - birthday gift from a friend. I'm really into owls :)

Hook 8: Diamanté Panda - from Forever 21 in the US. Was something like $5. Really like this, can be an awkward length but I love it all the same (of course I would, it's an animal!)

Hook 9: Cutout Deer - also US Forever 21, probably same price. Need to find more things that look good with this! I think it works best with plain, darker things.

Hook 10: Fish - Forever 21 again, think this was $2.80. I think this is so awesome, the parts are all sort of detached so the fish wiggles :D

Hook 11: Love Pearls - from Primark, probably about £2. Haven't worn this as much recently but when I bought it I wore it all the time. This was actually in my first shopping haul.

Hook 12: Bow with pearl - Primark again, probably £1.50 ish. This is the easiest to wear as it's small and doesn't draw too much attention, so I find it's good to wear with busier clothes, as I always feel naked if I don't have some form of necklace on.

So that was all my necklaces, with detail on my most worn ones. I hope you liked, I'm thinking of doing one about my rings too, and possibly bracelets, what do you think?

What are your favourite necklaces to wear?

bag of dreams

Ok the title may have been a tiny lie, it's not my bag of dreams (that title goes to a number of bags that I definitely can't afford!), but it does come close!

I've been wanting a proper handbag for ages. I've got quite a few of those little bags with the chain strap and then a few big weekend bags but nothing in between, but I'm so fussy with handbags that I just couldn't find anything I loved. I actually put this one back and carried on walking round the other shops but I think deep down I knew I was gonna buy this one straight away.

So anyway, here it is:

It has a little knot sort of thing on the front, I called it a bow at first but I guess it's not really, is it?

I reeeeally like it, it's from Dorothy Perkins (here) and was £28 which I thought was pretty good. The site calls it caramel which I think is pretty accurate, it's probably more colour accurate to my photos rather than the one on the site, but it's not as dark as my photos show. It holds basically everything I need it to, I haven't yet got to the stage where I have to hold stuff cause I have no room so that's good :) It sounds silly but I feel much more organised when I have it with me, even though I rarely get out most of the stuff that I've got in it!

So yes, I have finally found a bag I'm happy with, where I can leave all my stuff in it rather than packing a different bag every time I go out.
Happy bunny :)
