elf - tone correcting concealer

I have a few products from elf, and a huge amount more on my wishlist. I've so far been pretty impressed with what I've got, I haven't found a perfect product and there have been a couple that have gone to the back of my make up drawer. But one that I've really liked is their Tone Correcting Concealer.

Unfortunately I don't have many pictures as you can clearly see my tube is empty and I need a new one, which I definitely will be getting! I know there is some product at the bottom of the tube but not no matter what I do I just can't get to it!

I got this in the shade Ivory. I get everything in the lightest shade there is, and sometimes even that is too dark for my ghostly skin! I thought this might be the same, but it's actually really light. The photo below was taken in artificial light but hopefully you can tell that the product is lighter than my hand.

Because of the lightness of it, I've found this perfect for under my eyes. I was usually using the Garnier Caffeine Roll-On, but in comparison to this it just looks so so orange! I definitely think the first half of the name of this is most accurate; I didn't have any sort of amazing success covering up blemishes but it was really good for under my eyes and on my cheeks before applying my foundation.

Overall I really like this product, as a tone corrector, it's good at evening out redness and dark circles and just generally making a nice base for foundation. And for £1.50 I think that makes this a really great product!

Have you tried this, or any other elf products? What do you think of them, and what would you recommend? I'm looking to place an order soon so recommendations are welcome!

nails

I have another nail post for you today! This look is really heavily inspired by spring and the lovely weather we've been getting, using pastel colours which I always go for more in the spring and summer time.

They're supposed to be flowers. I know they don't look too great but I really like the colours together! They looked a lot worse before I added the yellow dot.

These photos make the colours look a lot paler than they are, the lilac and mint colours have more of a contrast in person than the photos show.

DSCF0742

The base colour is W7 in Spearmint, the 'petals' are Barry M Berry Ice Cream and the yellow dot (I forget what the name for that part of a flower is!) is Barry M Lemon Ice Cream.

Are you in the mood for Spring yet? I'd say the weather recently has definitely helped me!

MUA

This post is a little overdue as I've actually had this stuff for a while now, but I guess it just means I've had time to decide what I think of it all :)

I'd been looking for MUA products in the Superdrugs around me as I'd heard really good things about them but couldn't find any. (After I found these bits, my local Superdrug started stocking MUA too, typical!)

Looking at the stand I really wanted to buy loads more than I did, but I think it was just because of the price (£1!) so I just got the things I thought I'd get most use out of. This is what I got:

- Pressed Powder in Shade 1
- Blusher in Shade 1
- Eyeshadows in Shades 3 & 13
- Lipsticks in Shades 6 & 7

Total = £6! :D

You can see from the swatches how pigmented it all is, this was all with just one swipe of the finger. The silvery eyeshadow especially is SO pigmented; a little really goes a long way with it!

The pressed powder looks a little pale in this picture but it goes really great with my skin. It's good because I'm on a constant search for a foundation that's pale enough, so this helps to balance it out a little.

I haven't used the blush too much as I've got into a bit of a routine with my Benefit Coralista, but this does look really nice on and I think it will look great for summer.

I really like both the eyeshadows and would like to try the matt ones, although I've heard they're less pigmented. These two are definitely good for evening looks though, and look really nice together too. I chose them because I think they're sort of staple colours, not too bright or extreme.

This lipstick is shade 7 which is a slightly coral-y pink which I was a bit worried about, but I do actually really like it.

Sorry for the awful picture! My camera died and this was the only shot I got of this lipstick. It's shade 6 and is a more reddy purple-y pink, but because one photo is with flash and one is without, I think they look really similar :(

So I took this crappy webcam picture to try to demonstrate the difference:

Hopefully it worked!

Overall I really like this range! I'd definitely look into purchasing more products, especially eyeshadows and lipsticks. I think for the price these are really great products, you'd probably expect them to be a bit disappointing but I'm really happy with everything I bought :)

Have you tried anything from MUA? What did you think, would you recommend anything?

strawberry nails!

So the yellow leopard started to chip, which I wasn't too gutted about. It didn't take long for me to get fed up of that look, I think it was the colours.

I don't think I'll get fed up of this one though, I looove it! I got some dotting tools for Christmas and I finally read a passing comment that showed me how to use them (initially I'd been sticking them straight in the polish bottle... fail!). I'm really happy with how this came out and can't stop looking at my nails! I have a feeling it won't be the only time I do this look :)

I know I have a dent on my little finger :(
The red is the free Diet Coke one from Nails Inc, the green is Barry M in Emerald Green and the black (dark grey, really) is W7 in Pewter.

What do you all think? I definitely feel more summery now!

p.s. if this all goes to plan, this blog post will be published on Wednesday evening and will be my first scheduled post :D

saturday

Saturday's outfit was really simple but I really liked how it looked. I'm not happy with how these pictures have come out at all but it's the best I have!

Dress: H&M
Cardigan/Tights: Primark
Scarf: River Island
Necklace: Forever 21 US

My tights are spotty, you can sort of tell if you look close enough.

I really like this scarf, I've had it for years and never really worn it but I'm appreciating it more now! Definitely came in hand at the weekend, it was sunny but at times was still not very warm.

I like this picture purely cause of the twinkle near his eye :3

The photos were taken late at night after quite a busy day of visiting people, meals, and movies, so excuse my face! We saw Source Code and I really liked it, anybody else seen it?
What did you all do with your weekends?
