gingerbread boy

Just a quick post today, wanted to show you a bracelet I got for my birthday.

I had this on my wishlist which my boyfriend kindly bought me without knowing why I actually wanted it. My boyfriend is ...*ahem*... a redhead. I'm sure you can get the link! :D

gingerbread bracelet

This bracelet was from Dolly Bow Bow (Shop/Blog/Youtube). I discovered the shop through watching the Youtube channel and I remember Kate mentioned some products in a few videos, so I decided to check it out. I really love so many of the items on there, so I have a feeling this won't be the only Dolly Bow Bow product I will own!

gingerbread boy bracelet

It's a very simple bracelet but I like that. It means it doesn't draw too much attention, so will go with anything, but is still really pretty. I like that too because it means I can wear it all the time without it clashing, which I have done since my birthday :)

I'm not a big bracelet person really, I'm bad at remembering to put them on when getting ready, so it's really nice to have a pretty charm that's always on my wrist :)

Bracelet can be found here for £6!

Hope you like! Do you have any Dolly Bow Bow pieces?

my first sleek pallette!

Ok, I ruined my 'hat trick'. As always, life got in the way, and I genuinely wasn't able to blog. But here is what I'd planned to post.

I've wanted a Sleek palette for a long time after seeing countless blog posts on all the different palettes available. I finally found a Superdrug which stocks Sleek which was awesome as I can't ever see myself buying makeup online without already knowing what it's like in person!

sleek storm palette

The one I bought was the Storm palette which I think is one of the more popular ones, and I can see why! I really really like this :) Since buying it, I haven't used any other eyeshadows!

This is the perfect palette for me as I'm not really one for bright colours on my eyes, and am only really getting into eye makeup. I think this was a brilliant product to help me do that.

I love the packaging, it's very.... Sleek! But really, it feels sturdy yet still looks appealing, I think black is generally a winner when it comes to makeup packaging. If I'm honest I have only used the applicator that came with it for swatching, but if I didn't have brushes that I'm very happy with, I'm sure I'd find a use for the one they supply.

This is very much a neutral palette. Yes, there is colour in there, but they're all muted shades which are easily wearable and look great for day or night. There is also a mixture of shimmer and matte shades, although it is really a shimmer driven palette.

sleek storm palette swatch

Shades swatched in the order they sit in the palette. I'm a little annoyed with how these swatched. They are way more pigmented than the photo shows, or indeed than they looked on my arm. On my eyes they look so much better and I struggled to do the shades justice, the above was the best photo I could get. I definitely wouldn't say these were true to colour though, but thought it was better than nothing.

sleek storm palette look

Hopefully this photo shows that the colours aren't as disappointing as they may look on my arm. This look used the 2nd from left, bottom row (I wish this was one of the palettes where the shades have names!) all over the lid, with a little of the 4th from left, bottom row for definition. I then used the 2nd from left colour from the top row on my inner corner, which I think this shade is perfect for and which I've done on several looks using these shadows.

sleek storm palette wear

This photo is intended to show you how the shadows wear. This was my eyes at the end of the day, after wearing the shadows all day. Annoyingly I've forgotten which colours I used here but I'm sure it involved the top right colour, the burgundy/plum shade, and the same as above for the inner corner. As you can see, there is creasing and a little fading, but the colour is definitely still there. I don't use primer, so that would probably make a difference too.

Overall I really LOVE this palette and am so glad I bought it, it was the last one in the store I was in! I've definitely caught the Sleek bug now and want to try other palettes, as well as investigate the rest of their range, especially the blushes and lipsticks!

Do you own any Sleek products? What do you think of them?

So here is dress number 3 (1 and 2). These aren't brilliant photos but they were taken late at night and were the best of a bad bunch, that's my excuse!

Again, just £6 from F&F at Tesco! Usually I don't find much in their sale rails but I got lucky with these! Perfect for days when you don't want to think too much about an outfit but still want to look nice.

I wore this with basically everything in my last post but a different necklace, which you can just about see but I plan to post about it soon!

Just a short and sweet post from me today (look at me posting twice in a row! I'm hoping for a hat trick tomorrow :D) I hope you're all having a good week, we're a few hours from being at the mid point of the working week! :D

I have a couple of posts with outfits from the weekend to show you, the other is coming tomorrow. This is another of the £6 dresses from Tesco that were a complete bargain! I really like them :)

(Had to cut out my face, I don't know what I was doing!)
Dress: F&F at Tesco
Cardigan: F&F at Tesco (really old)
Belt: Primark
Necklace: Primark
Shoes: Primark

This was the dress I thought was my favourite of the three but everynody else seems to put it as their least favourite! Still pretty though :)

leaf necklace

Couple of close ups of my accessories. I never bought into the brogue trend at first but I was really drawn to them. I prefer the darker colour of these compared to the more common 'tan' ones, but wasn't really a fan of the black so I think these were a really nice medium. They have a sort of cross-hatching (is that the word?) along the side and I LOVE the inside, it has a tartan pattern :D

Hope you liked! See you tomorrow for the 3rd of the bargain dresses :)

I haven't done an outfit post in a while, so here's what I wore yesterday. I would have liked to have posted what I wore Saturday too but I didn't get the chance to take any pictures.

My boyfriend got a new tablet this weekend (a Motorola Xoom) and I was playing around with the camera in the car. It wasn't intended to be shown to anyone but I like how it shows the pattern of the dress.

This dress is new and I really like it! I got it in another very similar pattern and another which was a little different but still floral, both of which I imagine will feature on my blog at some point.

Dress: F&F at Tesco (£6 in the sale - bargain! :D)
Blazer: Primark
Belt: Primark
Watch: Marc Jacobs

owl necklace
Necklace: Gift, but I think it was from Accessorize

Terrible picture but this is my eye makeup which I really liked.
I used a light browny cream colour from 17's In The Nude trio and a shimmery golden from 17's Limited Edition Costa Rica trio.
My eyeliner is Eyeko's Graffiti Liner in Navy Blue - I usually go for plain black but I thought it matched the dress nicely.
My mascara is Bourjois Volume Glamour Ultra Care. I wasn't sure about the black & blue together but I don't own any coloured mascara and it looked better than wearing no mascara.
On my lips I wore Natural Collection Pink Mallow which you can see in this post.

Big thanks to my boyfriend for buying me the dress and taking the pictures :)

Hope you like, and that you all had a good weekend!

natural collection lipsticks

So I've been getting quite a collection of Natural Collection lipsticks - I actually have another (Coral Shimmer) but I can't find it :( - so I thought I'd do a post on them!

L-R: Sand Castle, Rose Petal, Pink Mallow, Sweet Pea, Fig Leaf

Swatches with flash
Swatches without flash
L-R: As before

sand castle
This is Sand Castle. It's the only one I have which is called 'Sheer Natural' so it's a sheerer (is that a word?!) colour than the rest. It has a bit of shimmer in it too but because of the sheerness it's not too much.

rose petal
Rose Petal and the rest are 'Moisture Shine' lipsticks which are more pigmented and also really soft on the lips. This shade is a peachy nude which I would say is one of, if not my absolute favourite of the bunch.

pink mallow
Pink Mallow is a brighter baby pink that reminds me of a muted down version of MAC's Pink Friday lipstick which I also love. To be honest the colours haven't been picked up as well as I'd hoped on camera. This is a vibrant pink without being over the top.

sweet pea
I think Sweet Pea is more of an evening lipstick purely because of the amount of shimmer it has. I think I'd be right in thinking this would be classed as a Frost lipstick if it was a MAC product? I do like it but I think it's my least favourite as it's probably the hardest to wear.

fig leaf
Fig Leaf is a brown toned nude, I'd say its a little pinker than NYX Rea which I also recently bought. It definitely looks nicer on the lips than it does in the tube.

Overall I really like these lipsticks and I definitely will be trying others. At £1.99 these are a total bargain and a really good option if you're just looking to try a new colour.

Have you tried anything from this range? What did you think?
