collection 2000 cream puff - fairy cake

Hi everyone!

I recently picked up this Collection 2000 Cream Puff  Moisturising Lip Cream - I only really bought it because it was 3 for 2 in Boots, but  had seen a lot of great things about these products so thought I'd give it a go. I debated over which colour to get and am really pleased with the one I got and think I will be adding to my collection!

I got the shade Fairy Cake which is a corally reddy pink colour - specific I know! I'm not great at describing colours but it is really lovely. I thought it may be a little bright but I have worn this all day without feeling too self conscious, and at the same time I think this could work really well for the evening.

I never hesitate in saying that I'm not a fan of lipglosses. I hate how sticky they are, how they don't really last or dry, and how my hair always gets stuck to them. Thankfully this definitely isn't something I'd call a lipgloss. It's not the sort of consistency you could call a lipstick, I think a lip paint would be a good description, although their choice of lip cream works too. The consistency is thick and covers the lips in colour. The finish isn't fully matte but isn't glossy either, it's a nice in between.

I tried to take pictures in different lights to give you different ideas of the colour.

While I've not owned this for long, so haven't tested it all that much, it lasted through me eating a lollipop with only a little fading which I am super impressed with! Without eating/drinking it lasted for hours, it just needs the chance to dry first.

I definitely agree with what others say about this not being moisturising in any way but I can look past this because of all it's other great points. One of which is the smell! I know that's not a hugely important factor but this smells GORGEOUS! To me it smells like vanilla buttercream, it's amazing! Luckily it doesn't taste like it too or it would never last on my lips :D

Overall I just really like this product and am definitely planning to buy other colours. It would cost £12 (just under, technically) to own all 4 and there are often offers like 3 for 2 on in places like Boots, although when you think of the price of something like MAC, £12 for 4 is a complete bargain! I had sort of high expectations for this product after seeing so much said about it but I can safely say it has exceeded all those expectations! I love it :)

Have you tried any of these? What did you think?

opi - stranger tides

Hi everyone!

I want to start this by saying that I believe this product has been discontinued, but I bought mine very recently and I believe there are also ebay sellers you could get it from, although to be honest I haven't looked. That being said, I still wanted to show you this!

opi stranger tides

The product as you will have guessed from the title, is OPI - Stranger Tides from the Pirates of the Caribbean collection.

opi stranger tides

This is the first OPI nail polish I've ever tried, being put off the price. I will say I'm still not sure they're worth paying over £10, but I can kind of see why people are so willing to pay that on a regular basis. I don't have anything that's similar to this and can't think of anything I've seen that is.

opi stranger tides

This is a pale greeny grey, that's the best I can describe it. I've had a look online and OPI descibe it as an "uncharted shade of oyster with a green hue" which I think works too. I just love how unique it is.

opi stranger tides

From first experiences I quite like OPI, the brush is a nice size and the polish isn't too thick and gloopy and I found it dried quicker than I expected it to. I haven't had it on for all that long - around a day, but so far haven't experienced any chipping or tip wear at all.

Overall I'm happy with my purchase and glad to have this in my collection! I'm not an OPI convert and will still buy the cheaper brands, but I will have a look at OPI from time to time.

Hope you liked! Have you tried this or any other OPI polishes? Are you a fan?

primark haul

Hi everyone!

I know it's not been all that long since my last Primark haul but it will be my last for a while so that's my justification :)

primark haul mint blazer
I'll start off with the item I was most happy to get. I've seen this blazer on a few blogs but wasn't sure if I'd find it in my local Primark as they don't often have the more popular items. But this was the first thing I saw when I walked in and I was so happy to get my size :) I plan to wear this with the black dress from this post to a wedding, as it has the same green in it! This was £15.

primark haul navy lace dress
I wore this dress at the weekend and am so happy with it. I've wanted a lace dress for sooooo long but everything I've tried on does me no favours and, for want of a better description, squashes me in the chest area! But this fits really well, I love everything about it. It looks more black in this photo than navy but I love the colour and just overall am super happy with the dress! This was £17.

primark haul purple dress
This dress is the same style as the one I mentioned I'm wearing to the wedding. I'm not sure when or how I'll wear this yet but the colour appealed to me and I already know from the other dress that I like the fit. This was £13.

primark haul 002
primark haul 003
I almost got these shoes in a third, more tan colour, but decided to stick to two! I really like the style of these and the pop of pink in the bottom pair. My favourites are the navy ones but I like the others especially for when I'm wearing lighter colours or maybe for black too, when navy might not go. These were £8 each.

primark haul zebra scarf
I already have this scarf in red and black and I love the print, so I thought these colours would be great for spring and summer.

primark haul vests
I stocked up on these 5 (there is a white one there, honest!) vests as I think you can never have enough plain vests, they are so great for layering! They feel so soft which I was't expecting, and I like that you can wear them both ways (scoop or v neck) if you want. These were £1.80 each, absolute bargain!

primark haul vests
Back to the animal theme yet again! I love these, especially the panther(? jaguar?). I bought these mainly with my summer holiday in mind but they could work over here too, especially when it's warm! They were £3 each.

primark haul bear crop top
This is the first crop top I've ever bought, I was just so drawn to the bears! I love the texture too, its sort of rough but soft if that makes sense, all the white bits are sort of raised. I'm definitely not comfortable with wearing crop tops alone so the vests will come in handy here! This was £4.

primark haul 008
Not a very good picture but I just had to show the label on this! I only noticed when I was taking these photos that there is a mini part of the design on it. You can see them on the two vests too, it's a little detail but I love attention to detail and really like this.

I hope you liked! Have you bought anything from Primark recently? I'd love to see as I think I need to just shop through others for a while haha!

Just a super quick post from me today, to show you my current nails. I'm a little stuck for inspiration at the moment and seem to be sticking to plain colours. The gold is Hot to Trot by No 7 and the Purple is Barry M Bright Purple.

seven deadly sins: beauty tag

Hi everyone!

I've seen this tag on YouTube a few times but saw that Lucy did it in blog form and decided to do the same. I know other people have blogged this, but Lucy changed one of the questions and I preferred her version. So here are my answers!

diorshow mascara
mua eyeshadow

GREED: What are your cheapest and most expensive beauty products?
My cheapest would be all MUA products (£1) but I've chosen specifically this one eyeshadow because I use it not only as an eyeshadow but as a face highlighter too. Two products for a pound, awesome :) my most expensive is probably my Diorshow mascara which I bought when I was in America. I don't really buy high end makeup and this mascara showed me that for mascara at least, I'm right not to. Also as a side note my Clarisonic and MAC Makeup brushes would actually be more expensive but I thought those were too obvious.

st moriz tan
mac nicki minaj pink friday

WRATH: What do you have a love/hate relationship with? What has been hardest to find?
I would say I have a love/hate relationship with fake tan. I love how it looks but I hate the process of putting it on then standing around waiting for it to dry, and so I don't use it all that often.
For the hardest to find, I'll cheat ever so slightly because I didn't buy it, but my boyfriend got up in the middle of the night to buy me the Nicki Minaj Pink Friday lipstick from MAC. Aside from that, if I can't find something I tend to forget about it.

mango body butter

GLUTTONY: What is your most delicious beauty product?
I struggled with this question to be honest. I settled on this mango body butter because I just LOVE the smell, mango is one of my favourite scents! I don't use body butter too much so when I do it's a bit of a treat, so you can kind of take that as being 'delicious', but it does actually smell totally gorgeous!

elf primer

SLOTH: What beauty product do you neglect because of laziness?
Quite a few really. See this post for what I wear every day, so you can see what I don't use. The main one that springs to mind is primer. I would say eyeshadow because I never wear it in the week, but that's not fully out of laziness - where I work I would look overdone with eyeshadow on.

foundation and eyeliner

PRIDE: What beauty product gives you more confidence?
Foundation and eyeliner. For years I have worn eyeliner every day and feel so strange without it. Foundation is more relevant at the moment as my skin's in sort of bad shape, so I need that to give me a little boost of confidence.

LUST: What product are you currently lusting over?
I would love one of the naked palettes, I pretty much only use neutral eyeshadow so they seem like they'd be perfect for me!

ENVY: What item would you most like to receive as a gift?
I feel like this is pretty much the same question as the above, so my answer is the same. The price of the naked palettes is too much for me to justify so I think the only way I'll own them is by being given one. In the meantime I plan to buy the MUA Heaven & Earth palette as a cheaper alternative.

rituals makeup

Hi everyone!

For Chrismtas, my boyfriend got me a subscription to More! magazine. With that came a free makeup set which took literally months to arrive, but I finally have it!

rituals 001

The set was from Rituals Cosmetics who, I'll be honest, I'd never heard of before. This post isnt going to be that in depth a review because I've not had the products long, so these are more my initial thoughts.

rituals 003

rituals 004

My most initial thought was that I really like the packaging! Its sleek and 'classic' but then the actual product (meaning not the box) has this slight shimmer/glitter to it so it's not just plain black, which I think is really pretty and different.

rituals 009
This is the Cheek & Eye Glow in Sundance. I really like this, it's definitely my sort of colours as I don't like anything too bright and colourful. I think you can work out which colour is which on the swatch, but I will say that the one that looks orangey in the pictures is the far right swatch, so it's not orangey at all, very pale. These are nice colours that go really well together and as the name would suggest they can be used on the cheeks too which is good. I have tried all the colours swirled together on my cheeks and it works really well as a blusher , it reminds me of a toned down Benefit Coralista. All I will say, although it's pretty obvious, is that this isn't going to be good for anyone who doesn't like shimmer.

rituals 011

This is the Lengthening Mascara in Black. I was surprised at how small the brush was to be honest but I wore it today and was pleasantly surprised. It's not amazing but I do like how it works and it does make my eyelashes look good. I would probably need a little more for a night out but it's great for the day.

rituals 012

rituals 016

This is the Cream & Care Lipstick in Smart. As you can see it's a super bright blue toned pink, and definitely not for the faint hearted! That being said, I have tried it with just a small amount blended out on the lips and it looks good like that too without being too bright. I like this though, it is a going out lipstick but I'm looking forward to wearing it!

If you've noticed I haven't included any prices or links in this post, it's because I think these are discontinued products, I can't seem to find any links to them.

Hope you liked! Have you tried anything from Rituals? What did you think?
