maxfactor - fantasy fire

Hi everyone!

Today I am posting about yet another polish I won in Sarah's giveaway - so generous!

Maxfactor - Fantasy Fire

I'm sure you recognise it from the bottle alone (and the title probably gave it away too!) but this is Maxfactor's Fantasy Fire. There has been so much hype about this polish that I don't think it really needs much explanation. Instead, I'll show you a few pictures of how different the polish looks in different lights - please excuse the quality of the photos though.

As you can see, in different lights this can look like a totally different polish. When I wear it I can't stop staring at my nails, trying to see how many colours I can find. To be honest I'm a little bit stuck for words on this one, I just love it!

The only downside I would say is how sheer this is. It definitely needs a base coat of colour first, otherwise you will end up using a whole bottle in no time - I would say either a dark purple or maybe navy would be best. But with a base colour underneath, the sheerness is no longer a problem and it's just a beautiful nail polish :)

Have you tried this? Do you think it lives up to the hype?

Hope you liked!

valentines nails

Hi everyone!

I actually made an effort with my nail art again for once! So I thought I'd show you what I did. In honour of Valentines day I have done some heart themed nails which are perfect for the time of year :)

Valentines Nails

This nail look was really simple to do but I think still looks really cute, and makes it looks like I've made an effort :)

Valentines Nails

On my ring finger I have the MUA Fur Effect in the colour Fluff & Colours - even the name fits in with the theme! I need to get around to writing a post about the fur effect (this is the second one I've tried) but suffice to say I really like them!

Valentines Nails

L-R: Essie Ridge Filler Base Coat, Nails Inc - Elizabeth Street, Essie - Penny Talk, Essence - Redvolution, Barry M - Retro Red, Barry M - Raspberry.

These are the polishes I used in addition to the fur effect, I just went for varying shades of red and pink and then mixed them together. I did the same design on my other hand, but with each colour on a different nail, I always seem to gravitate towards mismatched nails.

Have you done any Valentines nail art? I would love to see it!

Hope you liked!

spotty nails

Hi everyone!

Another nail post for you today - I did these nails a while ago but have only just found the photos on my computer to upload.

I haven't done any proper nail art for quite a long time, so I thought I'd start with something fairly simple to ease myself back into it - spots!

Essence Nail Polish in Little Miss Sunrise & Redvolution

There's not much to say about these nails really, they're pretty simple but still look like you've made an effort, so they're my go-to quick nail art.

Essence Nail Polish in Little Miss Sunrise & Redvolution

These polishes are another 2 of the ones I won from Sarah's giveaway - Redvolution and Little Miss Sunrise by Essence. I was quite impressed with these polishes actually, the formula was nice and didn't take much effort or coats to get looking like they do in the pictures. The yellow was especially surprising because I expected it to be streaky and take loads of coats, but it didn't at all!

So that's it for today's post, hope you liked!
