rimmel scandaleyes mascara

Hi everyone!

I have to admit, I've never really paid too much attention to what mascara I use. It's never been one of those beauty items that I'm on a search to find the perfect one. I tend to buy whatever's on offer, I don't think I've ever bought the same one twice but (touch wood) so far I don't think I've ever really tried one that I've really hated.

The mascara I'm talking about today is the Rimmel Scandaleyes Mascara. I'm pretty sure I got this as part of an offer - it's likely that it was when I bought the Apocalips lip laquers, as I bought quite a few of them - post here. That means I've actually had this mascara for quite a while, oops (this explains the shameful packaging)!

As mentioned above I'm not really one to care too much about mascara, but it has slowly crept up in my essentials list. I definitely notice more and more over time how much difference it can make to my eyes. This mascara is no exception to that, in fact I was actually impressed with it which is quite an accomplishment!

The brush is pretty fat which tends to be the type of wand I like for mascara. I got black, but when researching I've found there is also an Extreme Black version - does anyone know how they differ?

And here are the results! I didn't think to take a before picture, sorry, but hopefully you get the idea. I find that it separates my lashes fairly well and definitely gives length to them too. It's a fairly dry formula which means it doesn't transfer much - but obviously I try not to sneeze just after applying! To be honest, I'm not that good at describing mascaras since I definitely wouldn't consider myself an expert on the subject, so I won't go on much longer.

In short, I am really pleased with this mascara and feel it really helps with making my eyelashes stand out. It's £6.99 from Boots here which I think is very reasonable.

Have you tried this mascara? What did you think?

Hope you liked!

kiss me quick nail polish

Hi everyone, do you still remember me?!

I'll be honest, I've been really stuck for blog ideas recently. However, recently I've been trying out a nail polish that I just had to show you.

Kiss Me Quick Nail Polish

I received this nail polish as a gift for Christmas and, if I'm being honest, I wasn't expecting much. Doing some research online I found this was part of a set (the best I can find is this amazon seller, but the sticker on the bottom tells me that at one point this was sold in Boots). That, coupled with the fact that the colour doesn't seem to actually have a name, made me assume this was a set that was made just for Christmas and wouldn't be much good. While it seems I was right about it being a seasonal product, I was left very surprised by the quality.

This photo is taken 9 days after application. I apologise for the chips, I didn't take any photos when I put this on as I didn't expect to want to blog about it. But for 9 days wear (including a whole lot of typing) I'm really impressed by how the polish is holding up. Obviously it has chipped, but I would say this has only really happened over the last few days, so I got a good week out of it still looking fine. It applies pretty well, and is opaque as seen above in two coats. The first coat is a little streaky and didn't seem great at first, but the second evens everything out nicely.

As for the colour, I really like it. I actually don't have anything like this in my collection and I think it's really pretty. It's definitely not very wintery, but I'm not really one for being seasonal with my colours. And besides, aren't we all just hoping for spring by now?!

Have you seen or tried any polishes by this brand?

Hope you like!
