blue eyeliner

Hi everyone!

I have to admit, I never thought I'd be writing a post about blue eyeliner. For years and years now I've felt like I needed a black line to finish off my look, so never considered other colours. This past weekend I decided to experiment, so I dug out a liquid liner I knew I'd acquired in a gift set somewhere along the line. I've done a quick google and there is no sign of this liner being sold anymore, but it was a Liquid Liner from 17 in the shade 'Teal' - but the product itself isn't the focus of the post anyway.

So as you can see I haven't totally ditched the black - I'm not brave enough for that yet! On the rest of my lids I used some gold colours from one of my MUA palettes, and a little under the eyes too. I've just lined the blue along the top, so it just pops out when my eyes are open. Obviously my technique needs a lot of practice, but I really enjoyed how this looked - so much so that I did a similar thing the next day! This is way out of my comfort zone but I'm glad I tried something different :)

What do you think? Have you experimented with coloured eyeliners?

life #6

Hi everyone!

It's been a while (over a year!) since I last did a 'life' post, so I thought I'd do another one. Here are my instagrams from the month of April - it's been so long that last time I posted these, Instagram wasn't even available on Android!

1. Went to see Divergent, opening night! Was so excited to see this as I love the books :)
2. New snack from Graze - Banana shortbread with toffee sauce. Delicious!
3. Cat feet :3
4. Dog not enjoying my fiancé's affection!
5. Easter breakfast, had to be done!
6. Easter treat, also had to be done :D

Hope you liked!

chevron nails

Hi everyone!

Just a quick post from me to show you my current nails.

I've been really inspired seeing quite a few chevron nail looks recently, so I gave it a go. This is my first time doing chevrons so it definitely needs work, but I'm pretty pleased with the effect! This was done free hand so maybe using some tape would have helped.

I used W7 White for the base, and Essie Penny Talk and Barry M Guava for the chevrons.

Have you tried chevron nail art? (I feel like I've said chevron too many times in this post. Sorry! CHEVRON)

Hope you liked!

a wishlist

Hi everyone!

Today I have a type of post I've never done before - a wishlist. I don't want to say that these will be a regular thing by any means, but I just wanted to show a few products that are on my mental shopping list at the moment.

Wishlist

1: Revlon Colorburst Matte Lips - I'm a bit late on these I know, but I am really keen to try these matte lip balms. On my last shopping trip I'd swatched and was all ready to buy Elusive, but all I could find was testers! So this is still on my to-buy list, for now.

2: La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo [+] - This was on my wishlist back when it was the old formula, and still is now. I've deliberated over getting this so many times and am not really sure why I haven't yet!

3: Barry M Aquarium Collection - I saw this post on Essie Button which made me want the whole collection! Specifically though that blue shade looks beautiful!

4: Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Lips - More from Barry M! This item was inspired by this post on Corrie's blog. I'm quite a big fan of lip pencils and thought these looked like a good option at an affordable price.

5: Acrylic lip storage - I've been wanting something this for a while but in all honesty don't have the room for it at the moment. However, we're moving in a couple of months so I'm thinking it's perfect timing to get some new storage! And at that price, maybe I'll get two...

So there's 5 things on my wishlist/shopping list at the moment!

Have you tried any of these, and would you recommend them? What else would you suggest I add to my list?

collection - volumising mascara

Hi everyone!

Today I have a mascara to talk about. This mascara I saw on a blog/video and I can't for the life of me remember who was recommending it! But it sounded pretty good and at a price of only £4, I thought it was worth a try. I'm pretty glad I tried it out!

Sorry these aren't great photos, my camera was having trouble focusing. So as you can (hopefully) see, the brush is rubber rather than the normal bristles I tend to go for in mascaras, and the 'bristles' on this wand also seem to be shorter, for example compared to another mascara I've been using a lot - Rimmel Scandaleyes (review here). The Rimmel wand is much more of the typical wand style that I tend to like.

Collection Volumising Mascara

I have to admit, I don't think this mascara lives up to it's claims. I'm happy with how it performs for everyday use, but I definitely don't agree with the 10x volumising claims that are on the packaging. I think the Rimmel offering I reviewed a few months ago does a better job in that department. I also feel that this formula is maybe a little too wet - I have to be really careful when pulling the wand out of the tube, as some of the mascara can fly out when it comes out.

Overall I'm happy to use this mascara until it dries up (thinking about it now, maybe it will get better as it dries up?) but I don't think I'll be repurchasing, the price tag is good but I think there are better mascaras I could get. I was surprised not to like this much actually, as I've been pretty pleased with the rest of their range - a few of their products have been repurchased multiple times! I think my main problem is that from the claims, I was expecting more than what I got.

Sorry for the moany review! Have you tried this mascara?
